Purpose: To help develop confident amazing kids by teaching
students about finance and business while also teaching positive leadership
and life skills.
Activities in the program:
Money and Business

Cash Flow for Kids
board game. Students will learn about key accounting and financial
terms and how to build up savings and passive income.

Cereal Game - Using
cereal and milk students will participate in an interactive game
about the free market system.

Create a business
(session 2). Students will learn to develop a business plan and
implement it on an individual basis or as a team.

Stock Market Game
- As stated by the Stock Market Game, "The Stock Market Game
gives students in grades 5-12 the chance to invest $100,000 (not
real money) in a real-time portfolio of stocks and mutual funds.
They think they're playing a game, but they are really learning
valuable economic and financial concepts." The game teaches
students how markets work and helps them learn about investing
and saving. Game is played in teams of 3-5 players with competition
on a statewide level.
Developing communications skills
Students will learn and practice public
speaking in a comfortable manner throughout the program. This will
include:

Biz Kidz is offered by
SHINE a newly formed 501(c)(3) tax exempt non profit whose purpose is
to develop empowerment and enrichment programs. Ben Phipps, CPA and
founder of SHINE, leads this program.
All proceeds
from the pen will go to SHINE.
